The conference will take place at the Chateraise Gateaux Kingdom Sapporo Hotel & Spa Resort, located on the bank of River Barato, the border between Ishikari and Sapporo cities.

Location |

Sapporo (Sapporo-shi) is the fifth-largest city in Japan by population. It is the capital of Hokkaido Prefecture, located in Ishikari Subprefecture, and an ordinance-designated city of Japan. Sapporo is best known outside Japan for hosting the 1972 Winter Olympics, and the annual Yuki Matsuri in the city, internationally referred to as the Sapporo Snow Festival, which draws more than 2 million tourists from around the world. Transportation |

Sapporo can easily be reached by plane, train, or car. Airport shuttle buses (Hokkaido Chuo Bus and Hokuto Kotsu) run regularly from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo station. Rapid Airport Express Train is also available from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo station.
(IMPORTANT) The conference venue can be reached by Free Shuttle Buses hourly departing from North Exit of Sapporo station (9:00-21:15). However, you will miss the morning session (opening and plenary talks) even if you took the first bus (of 9:00). Therefore we will offer the following special free shuttle buses which will depart from the North Exit of Sapporo station (See "Bus stop" section of here).

Nationals of these countries and regions holding valid passports can apply for landing permission for short-term stays for such purposes as sightseeing and business trips without obtaining a visa. However, cases involving paid activities in Japan are excluded. Also, the waiver of visa requirements are not applicable in the case of stays exceeding the period of time stipulated in each arrangement. The official language in Sapporo is Japanese. The language of the conference is English.

Foreign Exchange, Banking Facilities |
|
The Japanese currency is the Japanese Yen (JPY: ¥). Currency exchanges are available at the airport terminals, travel agencies, banks and various places in the city. The best exchange rates are generally offered by the small exchange offices.
Major credit cards are usually accepted in most hotels, restaurants and many shops in the city. Obtaining cash against ATM or credit cards is very easy from the ATM cash machines that can be found at almost each bank office, hotel or on the street.

Electricity is supplied at 100 Volts, 50 cycles AC. Please use an adapter plug (to "A" plug) and a voltage converter if you need 120/220-40 Volt appliances.
